Privacy policy

Last updated 5 October 2026

Vimbara is a personal project run by one person, not a company. This page explains what it stores, who processes it, and how to get it removed. The same summary is in the app at vimbara.vercel.app/privacy.

What is stored

Your account email (and name or photo if you sign in with Google). Everything you enter: tasks, events, work shifts and imported schedules, reminders, work logs, income and expenses, budgets, repeats, savings goals, your profile (first name, jobs, positions and pay, monthly income) and settings such as currency and time zone. If you turn on notifications, the push address your browser gives for that device.

Each account can only see its own data. As the person running the app, I can technically see the database.

Who processes it

ServiceWhat it does
ClerkRuns sign-in and stores your email and password.
SupabaseStores your data in a database in Europe.
VercelHosts the app and keeps short-lived request logs and anonymous page-speed statistics.
Google GeminiPowers the AI features (see below).
Your browser's push serviceDelivers reminders if you turn on notifications.
Google SheetsOnly if you link a roster: the app reads the sheet you shared.

AI features

The daily summary, savings tips, the “tell me what to add” bar and the goal planner use Google Gemini on its free tier. To do that, the app sends a summary of the day (task titles, shift and event times, your first name and job names and positions, but no pay figures), your spending by category, or the sentence you typed (with your category names and today's date). Google may use free-tier content to improve its products. Your account details are never sent.

Your calendar link

The calendar link in Settings is private. Anyone who has the link can see the shifts and events in it, so only share it with calendars you use.

Selling and sharing

Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared for advertising.

Getting your data, or deleting it

In Settings → Backup you can download everything you entered, or your transactions as a CSV. In Settings → Account you can delete your account, which permanently removes all your data.
